I thought this book was amazing. It was well written and depicted the Holocaust in a way that made it understandable how bad it was, but it wasn't as graphic as some books are. I thought the premise, that she got knocked back in time when she hit her head was great and I loved her confusion at first. I thought It was also interesting that she accepted the fact that she was in the past relatively quickly. I guess because she saw no other way to deal with things. i thought the notes that she left were inspiring and the best part of the whole book, is when she finds out that she really did exist.
This book is truly amazing. It's about a girl named Nicole and her life when she thought she went back in time to the Holocaust. When she went back in time Nicole and her family happen to be Jews during the time of WWII. They have to deal with many hardships such as being taken away from eachother, going into hiding, starvation, sickness, and the constant fear of being caught. You get a true feeling of how the Jews felt in the Holocaust. The plot isn't only about Nicole's family and her; it's also about Nicole and how she has to deal with the many teen things that we have to deal with today - friends and boys. The plot is very suspenseful, and it keeps you reading. I would recommend it to any teen and older to read.
Read the other reviews if you're considering this. I hoped for more, for something besides just another holocaust story. Because it's scary, heavy, hard, and I don't feel hopeful that we'll never do something like that again, so I don't want to read about it.
Very powerful. Would make excellent required reading material for high school students.
This was such an amazing book! I love it when an author is able to make a good story that will help the readers understand the facts and horror of the holocaust. It was such a beautiful book and you felt yourself feeling the emotions of the characters and hoping the best for them. Such a good read!
An engaging story that fiction, but at the same time based on fact. The fear the Jew experienced at the hands of the Nazi's is overwhelming.
It seemed a little longer than it needed to be.
