I’d seen this book recommended all over BookTok, so I went in with pretty high hopes — which, honestly, might’ve influenced how I felt about the whole series.
The plot itself is solid, with a unique twist on the ongoing war between fae and humans across Europe. Our FMC gets pulled into the conflict through her desire to help refugees, which leads her to a spy training facility where she’s meant to learn how to control her newly discovered powers.
Up to this point, things were actually pretty good! The MMC was kind of a twit, but I was willing to overlook that if he showed some growth later on. My main disappointment was the lack of an academic or training setting — the FMC is thrown straight into missions, and there isn’t much show more explanation for how she becomes so close to certain characters who seem willing to sacrifice themselves for her.
That said, if you go into this one with slightly lower expectations, it’s still an enjoyable, easy-to-read romantasy with some fun elements. show less

Alright, book lovers, let’s talk about *Avalon Tower*! This gem took my breath away with its wild mix of fantasy, intrigue, and swoon-worthy romance!
Outstanding start to a new series
This book is a different take on the academy genre. And the twist at the end makes me want to keep reading. Love the characters and I can't wait for more of them.
