The Navigator: Poems

I have spent a lot of time debating whether this is a 3 star or 4 star set of poetry. I finally decided on a 3 because while there are 2 poems I really loved, the general style is more prose poetry than poetry as I prefer it. The author has loads of talent but I think her poetry would be strengthened with better line breaks and less complete sentences.

1 star = couldn't complete it. 2 stars = Not good but I could finish it 3= Good book 4= Really Good 5= Great book that I will reread

One of your typical poetry books—not said in a negative way BTW! It is an easy read, thanks to descriptive prose that allows the reader to be immersed not just “physically” but emotionally as well. Some poems resonated with me, and I liked this collection.

The Navigator, by Christie Leigh Babirad is a book of poetry. It is easy to read, laid out nicely and filled with themes of love, loss, questions and answers. There is a little something for everyone. It is a simple book but the feelings we have all felt; melancholy, pain, joy, uncertainty, hesitation…are all present and invite us to feel them once again and try to make some sense of them. I enjoyed this book and it is appropriate for middle schools through aged adults.

The Navigator is perfect for poetry lovers . None of us could have ever imagined the twists, turns, and serendipitous straightaways of our lives nor can we imagine exactly where our futures will turn. The Navigator, explores the richness , the soul aspects and key details of life that often shape humans and shows mirror to society. Writer believes that the best way to navigate your way forward in life is to talk about the pain , melancholy and desire of your heart and cherish the memories.

Poetry is written in verse and couplet form with metaphor and smiles, few included rhyming schemes, she was telling stories and gliding through it like gliders after the sky diving.

This collection is for those who want take up their personal journey show more with her, and in turn discover more about themselves and our own journey within her lines. show less

An encouraging read of poetry that puts life into perspective. I liked this book and the poems were very sweet and allowed me to reflect. Some were not exactly relevant to me but I still enjoyed the book as it illuminates upon the unpredictability of life.

An enjoyable, accessible poetry collection with moments that will really connect.
