Arthur's Pet Business

This is a great book for students who might have pets at home. This can show them out to take care of them and what would be good for the animal!

I would use this book to introduce business and responsibility to students. I think students would like this book because it has a happy ending and teaches students about starting a business. I would use this book in 2nd-3rd grade because at this age, i feel like kids are very interested in money. I could also use this book for retelling with students and have them recall the events that happened in the story.

As a huge fan of the television series, I was greatly disappointed at the lazy and sub-par writing of the books. The illustrations are very poorly done as well (especially if you have older editions of the books). Not good. just watch the show; it's on at seven on PBS every morning.

On a rudimentary and very basic level this book can be used to introduce students to entrepreneurship and what it means to be responsible. It can also inspire them to be creative about what kind of businesses they could potentially start themselves.

The author provides a perfect example of taking responsibility in this book. He shows us this when Arthur takes on the many responsibilities of taking care of the neighborhood pets, just to prove to his parents that he is responsible enough for a puppy of his own.

Arthur's Pet Business is a good book to read to children about responsibility. I would recommend this book to elementary teachers and parents.

Arthur wants a puppy so when he asks his parents they say if he shows he can take care of one they will allow it.
He starts a pet business to take care of peoples pets and does very well.
