Back in the day kids didn't get to choose how to wear their hair. Personally, I think Marty" is cuter with shaggy hair. But the rhythm of the text and the exuberant dancing pictures make this book delightful."
A boy, nicknamed Moppy, is considering getting a hair cut, but is certain of it when he is mistaken for a mop at the grocery store. This book is silly and entertaining and a guided reading book that has a character that some students may relate to.
A boy, known as Mop Top because of his shaggy hair, needs to get a haircut, and puts it off until people start mistaking him for things he's not. Mop Top learns a lot through the book, including obedience to his mother when she tells him to get his hair cut and that taking care of yourself and caring how you are presented to people matters. The illustrations are very interesting, as they are all black, white and red. They are a good representation of the story being told. It was a cute story with an interesting message, and I would include it in my collection.
A little boy needs a haircut but does his best to get out of getting one. That is until someone mistakes him for a mop.

Moppy thought a woolly dog, a droopy tree, and uncut grass needed a clipping more than his hair did.
