This is a Southwestern story about a man telling his story of his obsession with chewing bubble gum. He was telling a tour about his youth when he chewed 2-7 pieces of bubble gum all at once. He would chew it all day long even at school. The teacher would ask him to spit it out, but he always carried extra in his shirt pocket. One day he wasn't paying attention walking in the desert when he stepped on an angry snake! Stepping on the tail he couldn't hear the rattle. The snake pounced up and struck the boy right in his shirt pocket where, thankfully, a packet of gum was. The snake's mouth was tied by the bubblegum and it chewed it for a long time. Until suddenly, he blew a gigantic bubble. The boy poked it with his finger. Not expecting show more a big explosion, the snake got its face covered with sticky gum sending it flying backwards while the boy was sent flying to the ground in the other direction. His mother found him and asked him what happened but didn't believe the boy. She hated his gum chewing. show less
