Bright, engaging illustrations add to the charm of this introduction to the wonders of Egypt. Extensive back matter includes Egypt's ancient eras, gods and hieroglyphics.
This picture book is truly a brief journey through Ancient Egypt. Every page contains a picture of an Egyptian god with its name and the animal it represents. As one travels through this story, they will explore various cities, businesses, hieroglyphics, farm life, mummies, pyramids, the Sphinx, the Nile, and Upper and Lower Egypt. At the end of this book, there is a page full of information on all of the above topics with various illustrations. This is a great book in that it is simple, but informative text and allows the reader to gain important information without overwhelming them. It even discusses the different periods of history for the Ancient Egyptians!
