We see her relationships with men like Basquiat, Tupac, Prince and Warren Beatty, and what happened in her marriages to Sean Penn and Guy Ritchie. We see her embracing motherhood. I grew up listening to Madonna and love everything she does. I was excited to start reading this book hoping to learn more about her life. I made it halfway through the book and gave up on it. Why do you ask? The beginning of her childhood was a great read and learning about her family and how she molded herself into what she is today. After that, the book turned into a tabloid. If I wanted to read hearsay and what could've happened, I would be reading the Star and Enquirer, not a book.

I found this to be a very honest depiction of Madonna, which is cool, because it not only talked about the good stuff, but it didn't hide her bad qualities. Despite the fact that I haven't been that into her more recent music, I will always love and admire her!
Good overview of the different sides of Madonna, but clearly written with affection for her. No real meaty information but great to read if you're a fan.
I am not certain that the author of this book actually managed to get beneath the surface of Madonna, not that he probably didnt try. This seemed to be nothing better than the tabloids over the years. He does state that despite being very much a poblicity seekier she actually let very little of what is her privet life into the public domain - she controed this be feeding the appatite with the stories that she devised.
He did not get to the bottom of wht she was so driven, especially as she did not seem so earlier in her life.
I am aftaid that for madonna I like her less having read this boook
Interesting story of Madonna's life.

Unauthorized Madonna biography unfortunately deficient in material

The problem with writing an unauthorized tell-all biography is that, in this information-rich world that we live in, by the time a book gets written on somebody, most of the juicy stories are already common knowledge. To make up for that, the tell-all author needs to fill his or her pages with either a thoughtful analysis of the show more subject at hand (which requires actual writing talent) or, frankly, newer and better dirt (which doesn't require talent but does require a bit of detective work).
Unfortunately, celebrity biographer J. Randy Taraborrelli does neither with his latest concoction, "Madonna: An …
