Poseiden’s finest against vampires…I’d like to see that, but I’ll settle for reading about it.
Ven is second in line to the throne, but he doesn’t want it. He is happy being head of the Warrior Academy.
Erin Connor is a witch and knew she was in trouble when she came face to face with Ven. I think we all know where this is going, but I am looking forward to a slip sliding ride to Atlantis.
Ven quickly knew he would stop at nothing to protect her from those who pursue her.
The romance is otherwordly instalove, easy for me to accept in a novel where it is to be expected…which I will leave to you to find out why.
Atlantean, Elven, Vampires, Shapshifters, Witches…you never know who your friends are.
The world and characters are show more familiar, at least some of them, and I love learning more about them. Danger is always near and that creates suspense and curiosity for me.
Though the storyline is familiar and easy to figure out, I do like surprised lovers, magical love and battles between good and evil.
The romance is steamy and for adults only.
Even though Atlantis Awakening tells Ven and Erin’s story, it leaves us in a pickle with the overall storyline. I recommend reading in order to get the full impact.
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Atlantis Awakening by Alyssa Day.

Whilst this book isn't outstanding, it's a good solid read if you like PNR. I like the way Day moves between the characters and their various interests. This book is about Ven and Erin, however solid time is given to Conlan and Riley, Alaric and Quinn as well as some of the other Atlanteans like Justice (whose book is next). It doesn't jar between these shifts in focus.
The book has some good light humour. I would recommend it as a relaxing book - good if you are looking for a bit of escapism and a break from another series.

Atlantis Awakening is book two in the Warriors of Poseidon series by [a:Alyssa Day|35023|Alyssa Day|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1251143528p2/35023.jpg]. This is a good follow after the first book [b:Atlantis Rising|396929|Atlantis Rising (Warriors of Poseidon, #1)|Alyssa Day|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1388350770s/396929.jpg|386403]. We get lots of action, adventure, Hot Atlantan men, and women who complement them.
Ven, the King's Vengeance, head of the warrior training academy and second in line to the throne of Atlantis. He is pure alpha warrior.
Erin, a witch, gem singer which is a rare and a lost art. She does not know who she is, until the high witches in the coven tell her of her heritage.
This book was show more great! Definitely an improvement on the first book. I found it hard to put this one down. We get more of an in-depth story and character development. The romance was wonderful. Their are some great new developments with our Hot Atlantan Warriors. Major twist with Justice that made me go wow I did not see that coming. I liked seeing Conlan and Riley from Atlantis Rising. We learn they are having a baby and things are not going so well with the pregnancy. I liked seeing more of Atlantis and learning about a new Goddess with the arrival of our gem singer.
Atlantis Awakening gives us lots of twist, surprises, and new developments. Ms. Day has created an interesting world with action and romance. Now I’m hooked and can’t wait to read on and find out what happens with Justice and all the others in this series. You should add these books to you're TBR list!

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times... At least that is a lot like what this ongoing series has to say about a hidden sect of Atlanteans out to destroy the not quite as hidden horde of vampire kind before they all suck us dry (hold on a moment, the author did mention vamps in positions of power...that would explain a lot about the economy getting sucked dry in real life. Maybe she knows something we don't! LOL...sorry, bad joke, couldn't resist.) Unfortunately for the Atlanteans things aren't going so well. The vamps are organizing and recruiting werewolves, turning humans left and right and worst of worst the crowned prince's pregnant beloved is dying along with the child inside her. Enter SUPER VEN a.k.a. King's show more Vengeance who discovers instant rapture with a witch/legendary gem singer with whom he is supposed to negotiate battle plans with. Along the way they end up doing more of the funky tango than world saving but at least they had fun (of course, you knew that would happen. After all this is a romance novel *sigh*)
There were things I really enjoyed about this book, namely the last three or four chapters up to the climax (the story climax...not the characters'. They had plenty of that ahead of time.) What I didn't really care for was the vulgarity of language during the other climactic scenes. Maybe I'm just a prude but it bugged me. Also, it was pretty predictable, if you've read any other paranormal romance series about supernatural beings battling other supernatural beings to save the world (there sure are enough to choose from out there) you'll have a pretty good idea of exactly how the story will go. I did enjoy the supporting characters of Justice, Jack, Quinn and the vampire boiling Alaric enough to make the book way more interesting than if it had simply focused on the leads. Not that I didn't like the leads, they were okay, just very route...and supremely beautiful, which always kind of bugs me.
Generally I think this is an interesting enough paranormal romance series that I personally intend to keep on with and would really appeal to those who can't get enough of Ward's BDB books, just with fish boys instead of vampires (well, good vampires anyway.) show less

A standout addition to the series! Lord Vengeance "Ven", is the king's vengeance. Charged with the protection of the king of Atlantis and the royal family. He is also the captain of the warriors. Though his title maybe daunting, Ven is as fierce and passionate as his name implies.
Atlantis Awakening book two in the warriors of Poseidon launches the series into high gear,as Ven and Riley race against time to save their loved ones.
Romantically the book is electric. It sizzles with not just the magic, but the chemistry between Ven and Riley; their connection resonate throughout the story-line.
I din't know why I waited so long to start this series. Can't wait to read Atlantis Unleashed.
This second book is much like the first. The characters that are focused on in this story are a witch named Erin Conlan and Ven, the brother of Conlan. The author continues to write somewhat lame conversations between the characters. There is lots of sex, violence, and bravado. I still like the story line of people on a quest. The story includes a mixture Atlantians, shape-shifters, vampires, and witches. Entertaining but mindless.
Ven, serving as the King's Vengeance
Erin Connors
The Characters
Erin is a spit fire. Ven better watch out cause she is going to keep him on his toes. I liked Ven, he's a beast when it comes to protecting his woman but also seems like a stand up, cool guy when not in imminent danger.
The Story
There was a lot of buildup and the final battle was pretty awesome.
Random Thoughts
It took me a bit to wrap my head around this new world, which is normal for me with paranormal universes. I'm still not sure I caught all the nuances and facets but I'm definitely ready to explore the rest of the series and find them.
I enjoyed this quite a bit. 3.5 Stars
