The 184 models collated in this volume range widely in age and come from all walks of life, but share one common feature: they are all bald. The photographs are presented identically, so that the images are refined to the sparest of head shots and allow for an exercise in how we read human faces.

A unique project has resulted in a beautiful book! It's more than just a coffee table book (though it is that too, of course); these pictures reveal so much about beauty, image, how we see other humans and how what we see becomes the ground for our human interaction. I am giving my copy (with a sense of loss) to a young woman just starting college -- she's studying art, and I hope she'll find these pictures as inspiring as I have.

I especially respect the photographer for such keen insight doing this project. The photography is truly brilliant (in so many senses of that word). The book is probably out of print now. If you're considering hunting down a copy of this book, keep in mind that it's worth every penny!
