Review from my 13 year old.
“I enjoyed it, lots of information that was new to me such as Ghengis Kahn’s original name, that he was not always at the head of a marching army, and that he conquered most of Asia. It was a really nice book. In my opinion, he was more successful than Alexander the Great.”
Very detailed biography written like a novel. I am assuming much of the details came from the journal of Ye Lui Kutsai; the journal of Friar William is quoted at the end of the book. I never read or studied about Genghis Khan before and amazed this greatest conqueror of the world was never incorporated into my (public school) education--Genghis Khan was a far greater leader and conqueror than Alexander the Great. Some of the details were a little too graphic or gruesome for me and might be also for younger or sensitive children.
