Description

A special double romance from a New York Times Bestselling Author!

London, 1817: Sean Delaney has no shortage of female admirers, but all he wants is a divorce—for his sister, that is. Too bad her rotter of a husband, reclusive oil painter John Hamilton, won't consent unless Sean agrees to help him pull off a major deception. With his sister's happiness on the line, Sean has no choice. But he won't be able to do it alone...

Though Lady Corinna Chase is more interested in pursuing her art show more than finding a husband, she can't help but take notice of the handsome Irishman who's moved in next door. When it soon becomes evident that her new neighbor isn't who he says he is, rather than expose him, she finds herself drawn into the hoax. As collaboration grows into admiration, and temptation breeds desire, Corinna faces a difficult choice: Will she abandon her artistic ambitions, or give up the man she's come to love?

Meanwhile, Corinna's brother Griffin is helping their alluring cousin Rachael find her father. Thank goodness they're cousins, because Rachael has made it clear she won't ever marry one. Except...they discover she isn't actually his cousin. Good God, he's really in trouble now...

Very good book! Sean Delaney is an Irishman who inherited a small fortune and through business sense and investment, made himself a rich man. Still, he is not accepted by the ton - he is still a lowborn man of trade. Attempting to secure his sister a divorce from her odious husband, he agrees to impersonate him and keep his brother-in-law's dying uncle company. Only problem is - he's supposed to be impersonating a painter - a problem when you're color-blind. So he enlists the help of Corinna Chase - an artist trying to get a painting into the Royal Academy. She helps Sean along with the hoax, and along the way, a romance flourishes between them. I found this to be an interesting set-up for a romance novel. Sean is a self-made man, in show more love with a woman far above him, while Corinna is a bit of a rebel, flouting convention by wanting to paint portraits instead of the more feminine still-lifes. Neither character dominates the other in this well-written book - both are full and interesting characters in their own right, and their coming together is all the more satisfying because of it. show less

Third in the Regency Chase series. Well written, but I didn't like the plot line as much as the previous book. Sean is blackmailed by his friend into impersonating him at his uncle's deathbed, so that the friend can inherit the earldom. In exchange, he will divorce Sean's sister, so she can marry who she loves. Corrina, who lives next door to the earl, just wants to paint - and winds up painting the earl as he's dying, and meeting & falling in love with Sean. Turns out the earl was up on John's gig and got vengeance at the end.
Tempting Juliana was my favorite of the Regency Chase series, but I greatly enjoyed The Art of Temptation as well. Sean was great, and it was nice to see both Corinna and Griffin finally get their HEAs :). A nice wrap-up to the trilogy. I will miss the Chase family, though!
