I started this because Leonard Wibberley was a favorite author of mine when I was growing up, but doesn't even have any books in most public libraries any more. It was fine, but I got involved with other books and don't need to go back and finish it. I did read his afterword, in which he describes how he learned about the American Revolution as a student in England.

Rather childish - well, it is a children's story. The action jumps around a lot, and emotions are more told than shown. Even so, it's a rich story about a period I know only a little about - makes me want to re-read Johnny Tremain, too (another apprentice during the run-up to the American Revolution)! ( )
