Celina Myers crafts an intriguing world in Hollow built around a fascinating concept: a house divided between two groups of vampires: one operating like a rowdy frat house and the other guided by higher ideals. The contrast between these factions adds rich tension and personality to the story. The book starts strong, really developing the characters and letting the reader learn of each persons past. Where i felt the author dropped the ball was on not providing enough time to the concept of the ability to heal human illness. There was a brief snippet with the especially with the emotional children’s floor scene, but at quick as we start to engage, the scene is over, and so is that while plotline. The pacing in the final chapters also show more comes across a bit rushed, leaving readers wanting more depth and closure. That said, the twist at the end was a wonderful surprise and sets up exciting potential for a sequel. The world Myers created has plenty of room for expansion, and it would be great to see her delve deeper into the moral and emotional complexities introduced here.Overall, Hollow is an imaginative and engaging read with a few pacing issues but plenty of promise for what could come next. show less
I hope this is a the beginning of a series/duology because I would love to read another book with the deceitful and delightful characters.

This was a quick and entertaining book and I look forward to reading more of Celina Myers' work in the future.

Gail Shalan did a great job bringing this story and these characters to life.

There’s a giant logic loop here that I can’t move past. “A human’s life cycle is sacred.” However we just had 20 minutes of explaining how everyone was turned into a vampire and a lot of them were against their will. Mia sees one of them do something terrible and they’re like oh her, nah! She would never. And then tell me all the ways she did that thing.

I don’t understand the incredulity of these people for actions they’ve seen with their little undead eyeballs.

And I swear if her father is a vampire I will lose it.
What a way to be welcomed into a family! This story starts off extremely horrifying but interesting. I’ve had a great day reading this book. The characters are amazing! They had my heart ready to burst with excitement along with them in one moment and ready to shed tears with them in another. I haven’t enjoyed a story this much in a while and am glad to have found such a great read, especially one from such a great author as Celina! I cannot wait for a new release! Never a dull moment in Hollow and I highly recommend it. And UGHH the cliffhanger ending!!! 😫😫😫 That was too big of a cliffhanger for me 😭, there better be a second book!
I picked this up for my interest in vampires. It was given the vibes of if you liked The Vampire Dairies...Twilight...ect..

I didn't get so much of a TVD vibes. Kinda felt more like Twilight in a way but not so much.

The story was a fun quick read but I feel like it was too short.

It follows the death and 'revive' on our FMC. The vampires are different in this book. They don't have to necessarily be bitten and then die. Instead of syringe is used with a mixture of the 'family.'

This story follows her choice between two families. Made from an 'original' pair that are given a brief intro in the beginning of the book. Which when I began this book I wasn't sure where it was going. Essential she has 24 hours with each family after coming back show more to 'life' to figure who she wants to life with. I almost felt like more story development was given to the first family. While at the same time giving a mystery undertone of something going on that isn't quite right.

By the time she settles into the second family the story seems a little more rushed. And is wrapped up quite quickly near the end.
To finish off the story the epilogue is brief and kinda left me confused.
