Teenage lovers, who have grown up together, have their illegitimate baby taken away by disapproving parents for adoption. Many years later, after Tommy Lee's divorces and Rachel a widow, the attraction is still there between them, especially for Tommy Lee.
Not one of LS's best. Tommy Lee's incessant smoking really irritated me, and how could Rachel put up with that! ( )

Book description
Tongues would wag in Russelville if prim and proper Rachel Hollis were ever to be seen in the company of local hellraiser Tommy Lee Gentry. Few recall that as teenagers they had been forced to pay the highest price. Now, three broken marriages later, Tommy Lee has come knocking on widow's Rachel's door. He'll do anything-promise to reform his character, give up his disreputable ways-if she will agree to give him another chance. It's an intriguing offfer and one Rachel finds hard to resist.
