Kaum fängt man an zu lesen, schon ist man wieder mitten drin im Star Trek Universum. Der Krieg mit dem Delta-Quadranten ist gerade erfolgreich beendet worden, schon erscheint die nächste Gefahr für die Föderation: die Gateways der Iconians. Picard wird auf diplomatische Mission geschickt, um die Völker der Föderation zu vereinen - und Scotty erforscht, wie die Gateways funktionieren. Diana Troy erhält ihr erstes (?)
