Nice story. I don't usually like "why choose" stories, but this one works. Taron is an established character in this series, and with this book we get to see a little deeper; Tony showed up briefly in the last book, yet another human temp at Spellbound; and Zephyr is a thunderbird helping with that research project for handling extra discharges. Turns out (we discover early in the book) Taron and Zephyr are exes - and now they're both focused on Tony. The mate thing is less of a surprise in this book, or at least they don't resist the idea as much as in the first two. Tony's old injuries are a major focus, and a large part of his resistance to the idea that they want him. Many sex scenes, medium explicit, and most of them are important show more aspects of building their relationship(s). An enjoyable story. And the protagonist of the next one shows up briefly, and the foundations of the situation that creates that relationship as well. Nicely done. show less
