This is one of those books that I admired more than I enjoyed. It is a fragmented work of fact, fiction autobiography and reportage. It's difficult to follow, but at least it was challenging. Since it is unusual in form, it is hard to review. There is a lot of death and hardship in this tale. Rivera Garza seems like a well-read, smart author. This is the first book I have read from her.
