She Had Some Horses remains my favorite, but some beautiful pieces in here. Loved A Postcolonial Tale. I'm ever grateful to my sister for introducing me to Harjo, she deserves endless accolades.
I have nothing against the poet, but the fact she places explanations at the end of each poem ruins it for me. I don't give a fuck what inspired you to write something. I just want to read your work, thank you.

Harjo's collection of personal mythology and family legend reflects her Native American heritage, with modern application of legend. Beautiful weaving of language and image to haunt the reader long after they put down the slim volume, highly recommended. Her language is available to the novice poetry reader as well as the more advanced.
