There's a whole series of these books, and I've also read the one about Paris. They are quite good and nice to have when you are visiting somewhere new or old (or when you get back).
A China tem uma História muito interessante. O desafio para o historiador é não lhe retirar o interesse. Stephan Haw consegue-o. Comecei a ler o livro no dia da compra, com aquela curiosidade que me leva a folhear todos os novos livros. A diferença foi que só parei no fim do livro. Suspendia leitura do livro que então lia, para só a retomar depois de terminar este. Este livro despertou-me o interesse para esta nova temática. Outras histórias da China se seguirão e, talvez, também do Japão, Índia, Coreia, etc.
Assim se deveria escrever História. Obras como esta prestam um bom serviço à ciência histórica, muito melhor que as obras eruditas e estéreis que ninguém lê.
