Gotta love Babar.

Here, he and his family are kidnapped by a remote-controlled rocket and taken to another planet, where the inhabitants live very odd lives compared to those on Earth. Plus, they resemble elephants somewhat.

Babar and his family must adapt to the differences of this alien world, but are they too different from the natives?

Another book from my childhood revisited. ( )

This is a younger children’s book about the Babar family getting taken to space. They go through the solar system and notice the moon and the planets that they are familiar with, but then end up landing on a mysterious planet. I would use this book as an example of what would be good to read to a younger child when teaching them about the solar system. ( )

Picture Book. The book starts out with the Babar family having a nice picnic. Then a spaceship lands and they get taken to another planet. The inhabitants of this planet look like elephants but slightly different. They learn the customs of this other planet. Then the Babar family gets to go home and be happy together. The illustrations and text are great. This book can be used to demonstrate that people may look slightly different and they may have slightly different cultures but we can all get along.
