If you like recent past paranormal, this is pretty good. I found it to be relatively well-written, with no big surprises. Everyone but the werewolves seemed immune to homophobia, which was surprising for 1974, but we’ll assume artistic license. Overall a solid novella.

Thanks to GRR for this ARC. All opinions are my own.
Nice. Interesting it being wolf and wolf, this time - there are concerns about exposure to humans but it's from secondary relationships. This one is set early, long before the big reveal, and while being gay is beginning to be barely acceptable, or at least ignorable by some people, among humans. The relationship is kind of warped right at the beginning, as Wade doesn't know what Dustin was hiding from him and has to suddenly alter seven years of hating him. But that fades pretty fast. Several sex scenes, medium to very explicit, but no bondage or domination. Oddly for wolves, these two explicitly do _not_ want ranking anywhere in their relationship - in bed or elsewhere. I like them, I'd like to see more of them.. I think names get show more repeated a lot in this series, I think there's a Wade and a Dustin in other stories. No idea (it's been a while since I read them) if it's the same pair or completely different people with those names. I may have to go reread... show less
