Readers of historical romances might overlook the science fiction subgenre. But if you like the "Arcane Society" novels or any of those dealing with Vanza written by Jayne Ann Krentz as Amanda Quick, then you might also enjoy the lesser-known novels she wrote as Jayne Castle. They are by no means "hard" science fiction; really, they are more paranormal. The characters in these novels live in apartments, drive "cars," keep pets, run businesses--nothing too unfamiliar.
