Annabelle Vanderley is 34. Since she was 23 she has been the one to handle all the responsibility in her family. Her fiancee was in an accident and was paralyzed. For the last 11 years she has been alone taking care of him for the 9 years until his death and still taking care of her uncle and his two perverted children, Lulu and Wythe. At 28 Lulu is wild and selfish, Wythe is an abuser and even worse. But Annabelle loves her uncle and protects him from the truth about his children. So far I have enjoyed all the books I've read by this author. She keeps the action humming, throws in plenty of intrigue, and has interesting characters.
Romantic suspense as a genre appears to be a sexually explicit version of the pulp fiction that we used to categorise as "lurids". This account of the murders surrounding a philandering lawyer is racy in every sense Its pace makes it an easy read but I did not feel any affinity with any of the characters and never forgot that I was reading fiction. I found the experience nasty but I know that this appeals to some.
An interesting plot in this romantic suspense that started out okay but soon started to drag expounding on hero being a playboy then wondering who done it which I could of told them halfway in and it was too casual about sex. Attorney Quinn is suspect in murder of his lover who is Annabelle's cousin and she wants justice.
