Book 2 in the Trek Mi Q'an seriesNo Mercy tells us the story of King Rem Q'an Tal and the capture of his Sacred Mate. Giselle McKenzie trembled inexplicably as the sound of a low growl reverberated throughout the threads of her consciousness. She knew it couldn't have emitted from her date, the man sitting across from her in the quaint restaurant. Yet every time he placed his hand over hers, she heard that eerie, primitive growl.

One of these books from the trek mi q'an series goes a long way. Each book consists of a 7-8 foot giant who steals a human woman claiming her as his sacred mate and much channel milking ensues. It's written with this odd medieval bent, so the language is consciously archaic. Because they are aliens, no technology needs to be explained. World building exists, but it's a cartoonish world filled with massive and massively oversexed beings. Just the idea that he is 3 foot taller than her (and my cover is much more offensive and explicit than this one) feels a bit pedophilish, especially as he is carrying her in a papoose and fucking her as they walk through potential enemy territory. It just seems so ridiculous. No one could possibly have show more as much sex as these beings do, and rule the world as well.
It's well humoured, if you read one. No Mercy is the weakest because the world they travel through it especially barbaric and the lover Rem, particularly crazy (never devolution, much feared, never really explained) He is obsessed with Giselle's freckles and sleeps latched on to her nipple, which twists the pedophilia into a weird maternal dynamic, which also isn't sexy for me.
I think I was reading this series until I came to this one and then I stopped. All the book books are essentially the same, same style hero, same type heroine, and I think the first one I read was surprising and funny, but the joke wears thin. I'm giving this one away in paperbackswap.com show less

Like the first book this one is still filled with plenty of sex but the majority of this book is spent adventuring (so most of the sex is outdoors). After being freed from his hellish unloving marriage to the traitor Jera, Rem is finally able to find his true Sacred Mate, Giselle. On the way back to the seventh dimension with his new bride the ship plummets out of the sky with Rem, Giselle, Death, Yoli (bound servant), 3 Warriors, and Giselle's 2 poodles narrowly surviving. With no way to get a new ship where they crashed they then have to set out on foot to try and cross the dimensions to get home. I can't wait to read Kil's story next. :)
Giselle McKenzie is surprised to find herself the Sacred Mate of a 7' space alien and swept away to his dimension. King Rem has been searching for his mate for 17 years and is on the verge of devolving into a savage if he doesn't find her soon. This erotic tale is a slightly different kidnapping and adaptation theme from the first 2 stories with a run in with an already devolved monster and a visit to a neighboring planet with some interesting customs. OK addition to the series.
Very erotic sci-fi story about earthling Giselle captured by her sacred mate King Rem. It wasn't quite as exciting at the other stories in this series but it was enjoyable, short and prepares for next Trek installment.
I don't always feel comfortable reading all the numerous slaves simultaneously being sexual with a warrior but I liked the story. I wish there was more story. There was some disjointedness as they went from this couple's story to things happening in the place with Kyra's son, Cam and Kil.

I like the Trek Mi Q'an series. However this has been one of my least favorites. It just wasn't as good as the first book in the series. There is no depth in the story. Rem goes to earth steals her, mates her, and makes his way back home with steamy scenes thrown in.
