Risa is living with her sister after her husband dies in an auto accident .. she is pregnant.
Simon is the sheriff of Ceder Corner's where they live. He lives next door and both him and Risa have noticed each their but never made more than a hello and passing glance at each other but both wondered about the other.
When Risa has labor pains on afternoon , Simon takes her to the ER and stays with her.Helps her out for the next few weeks as she is helping him with a project to teach kid at the school where she works about public safety.
