The fact is ... I can't be subjective with Barbarian Prince because this was my very first erotic novel and since I couldn't compare it to anything, at that time I thought it was the best erotic book I've ever read. The whole dragon shapeshifters idea nurtured to a twisted part of my brain that wanted in adolescence to see Belle and Beast kiss. The dragon lords not only kiss in their dragon shapes but they are also what you would call a bunch of medieval heartthrobs with royal crowns on their heads.
There are some plot development mistakes in the books e.g. Olena, one of the wives doesn't tell what her name is to her future husband in the beginning , but in book one, Barbarian Prince , Morrigan hears Olena's husband call her by her show more name, hence I dropped one star from this review.
However the entire series is a very enjoyable read. Morrigan and Ulan were not actually my favorite couple from the series. Morrigan was a bit annoying and kind of stupid at times. Pia and Ulan's brother Zoran were my favorite couple. show less

Story: Morrigan (h) is an undercover reporter who's investigating the Galaxy Brides Corporation and she's decided to pose as a potential bride for the Breeding Festival on Qurilixen. Ualan (H) is a dragon shifter prince who's one of the masked grooms at the Breeding Festival in search of a bride. Morrigan doesn’t fully prepare herself for the Breeding Festival and being unaware of the rituals and practices finds herself married to one of the masked grooms. From then on, it's a battle of wills between Morrigan and Ualan - she refuses to accept him as a husband, and he refuses to let her go. Morrigan behaves rather temperamentally (tantrums, destroying Ualan's home, claiming she's a slave) and ends up making things even harder on show more herself. At times you feel for poor Ualan and wish that he could actually have someone else as his mate. After some ups and downs, and some hot and steamy action, Morrigan and Ualan will have to work together on their relationship to reach their HEA.
Audio: Narrator Mason Lloyd does a great job with Ualan and other male voices, and a good job with Morrigan and other female voices - I personally prefer a female narrator is used to voice female voices. The audio quality is good and there were no issues. show less

oK.I understand that some folks don't like listing things as BDSM because apparently that is very specific. However, perhaps it would be better to just list some of the things found in the book and let readers make their own decision.
This book contains, not just graphic sex, but:
- spanking, blindfolds, drugging
- use of whip
- hitting and bruising the main fem char by the main male char as punishment and in anger
- forced slavery or close to it of the main fem char
- main fem char forced to obey the main male char
Whatever you wish to call all that, I personally consider it to be light BDSM and find it to be
a turn off. Some of it, if it isn't BDSM is certainly borderline abuse.
As usual, I think a warning would be appropriate so that show more readers can make a choice. Maybe there ought to be a checklist. Due to not being able to tell what will be coming further from this author, I will likely not be reading any more of her books. show less

Good
Thus book wasn’t what I expected and I was surprised. The plot line was really good and the characters well-developed.

Not a bad sci-fi romance a little out there from the stand point the main character is a reporter who does not do their home work on the subject she is writing a story on
Having, as usual, started the series in the middle, I was delighted to finally read this adult paranormal Qurilixen romance, but point out that there is some BDSM early on.
