You know what they say about reading the book before watching the movie…
Sally Struthers played Helen Klaben in the 1975 movie and all I remember was that they ate toothpaste to stay alive. When I plucked this gem off my library shelf, I had no idea that my life would be effected in less that 200 pages. Helen’s tale of her life before, during and after the plane-crash and subsequent 49 days in the frozen Yukon, caused me to do some real soul-searching and gave me a renewed appreciation for all that I have, especially my faith...SMILE!!!
