Summary:
This is a story about a friendship between two completely different mice. One is a town mouse and the other is a country mouse. Both mice have a chance to visit the other at their homes. After exploring the many differences from food, environment and even safety they both make it home safe. Their story ends with both mice happy in their own homes.
Personal Reaction:
This is another classic from my personal family collection. I learned to read with this book and it soon became one of my favorites. I like how both mice are able to get along even though they are completely opposite. I like the large print, because it helps the kids focus on the words as they are reading.
Classroom Extension Ideas:
This book can be used to teach show more geographic differences, between town and country. How different it is to live in either place. You could also use this to encourage trying new things. Explaining that you do not always have to like everything but it is always good to at least try it. show less
