Another pair of Harlequin Romance reissues, one from 1985 and one from 2000. And it's easy to tell the difference.

Night Sheild, the conclusion to the Night Tales series, sends newly minted police detective Ally Fletcehr undercover in Jonah Blackhawk's casino. Jonah would like to get Ally under cover, but in his bed and out of her cocktail waitress outfit. Not a bad mix of suspense and romance for something that reads so quickly.

Night Moves, the "bonus" entry, is definitely 1980's fair. Semi-violent hero, mainly passive heroine. Famous for her music, Maggie Fitzgerald both the old Morgan place for a quiet retreat and she has no intention of leaving even after the landscaping company turns up the bones. Landscaper Cliff Delaney has no show more intention of falling for a shallow socialite, but of course she isn't, and he does.... show less
Night Shield : Allison, the daughter created by a romance from an earlier book in series, is a detective with talent and guts. Jonah, nightclub owner, likes her style. Weird Jonah doesn’t know her better since he is best friends with her father Boyd, or has never gone to his house. To keep her safe Allison stays at his place. The burglary guys are mad Allison has figured out their scheme of getting info from customers. Solution involves slight help from previous series characters. Story moves at good pace with more action than sex scenes. Night Moves : not part of series. Just a story about someone bothering during the night. Was very impressed with Maggie feeling the desire to do her own thing. After such a rich, pampered life her show more determination to do her own remodeling was good. Her musical abilities seemed too good. Cliff the landscaper was too forward and really initially was only for sex. show less
Good not great. Fairly typical contemporary romance.
