This is easily one of the worst children's books that I have ever read. I buy up copies whenever I find them so that I can teach students how to write a story with one cohesive plot. I DO NOT recommend this book.
A cute little book about a groundhog making his preparations for winter and his raccoon friend that does not want him to wake up on February 2 and see his shadow. As my father came from Punxsutawney I enjoyed this short tale and will read it to my grandaugheter.
Raccoon does not want Groundhog to predict Spring coming so he kidnaps him. Eventually Groundhog escapes Spring comes anyway. Raccoon is punished for kidnapping by letting Groundhog and all his friends ski for free at his ski lodge.
