Book description
"Dwedai henwr llwyd o'r gornel,
'Gan fy nhad y clywais chwedel;
Can ei daid y clywodd yntau,
Ac ar ei ôl mi gefais innau.'

"Dyma sut y daeth y chwedlau yma i lawr i ni; rhyw hen ŵr neu hen wraig yn eu hadrodd wrth eu plant a'u hwyrion, a'r rheiny'n eu cofio ac yn eu hadrodd wrth eu plant a'u hwyrion hwythau yn eu tro. A hynny ar hyd y canrifoedd. Roedd mynd mawr ar y chwedlau fel y rhain ar hen aelwydydd Cymru gynt, yng ngolau'r tân mawn a'r gannwyll frwyn, ar nosweithiau hirion y gaeaf.

"A bu mynd mawr ar y gyfrol wreiddiol hon dros y blynyddoedd hefyd. Nawr, bron i ganrif ers geni T. Llew Jones, 'brenin llenyddiaeth plant yng Nghymru', dyma gyhoeddi fersiwn newydd o 'Lleuad yn Olau' i'w thrysori eto gan blant o bob oed am genedlaethau lawer i ddod." (Gwasg Gomer, publisher's description).
