Kiera and Lamby: Tokyo

This is absolutely delightful.

The illustrations are warm, charming, and full of little details that make each page a pleasure to linger over. A few of the rhymes are slightly clunky, but somehow that only added to the story's charm rather than distracting from it.

As someone who has spent an unreasonable amount of time imagining adventures for my own teddy bear, this is exactly the sort of children's book I always wanted to write. The combination of gentle travel, curiosity, and the reassuring presence of a beloved stuffed companion makes for a wonderfully cosy read.

The ending hints that Kiera and Lamby may continue travelling to other cities, and I genuinely hope show more they do. I am well outside the intended age range, yet I would happily read every one of their adventures—and I would absolutely buy these for my niblings.

Lovely book with charming illustrations. Although I was previously unaware that Kiera and Lamby have other published adventures, I felt this is a sweet story that works well as a stand-alone tale. Yet, I adore the idea that this Tokyo chapter is part of a larger series where Kiera and Lamby visit other countries together in their dreams. The map-esque collage of Tokyo highlights at the end of the book was a nice touch, and I can see this book being a wonderful way to introduce young children traveling to Japan to some of the sights and experiences they could enjoy while visiting.

A inspiring children's book that encourages young readers to travel to other places and explore other cultures in the world but also serves as a gentle reminder to follow your dreams (even your travel dreams). The artwork complemented the story very well and I loved the muted/soft color palette. My daughter enjoyed learning about another city and culture and she admired the characters too. We'll definitely want to try the other journeys in this series.
