This is one of those books that you can open at random and find a gem of good advice. Mallory has an extraordinary wisdom, or at the very least he puts what is wise into words I can grasp. He starts many truths with "sometimes" as in "Sometimes we encourage and affirm the wrong behavior and attitudes in people" (p.8). He write not only about marriage, children and family issues, but friendship and personal happiness. I have never seen another copy of this book (except online) but I believe it was recommended in Susan Schaeffer Macauley's "For the Children's Sake).
