Similar to "Voices of Hope," "Children of Hope" is told from the perspective of someone who is not Nicholas Seafort. However, rather than from multiple perspective, the sole perspective is from Randolph (Randy) Carr, Derek's Carr's youngest son. While I did miss Seafort's inner monologue, Feintuch's foray in "Children" is much more effective than in "Voices" - the singular perspective makes for a more cohesive story, and Randy spends much more time in close proximity to the man we want to see - Seafort.
We also learn quite a bit more about the Fish & Outriders, though leaving more than enough mysteries for future novels should some enterprising writer take up Feintuch's torch. As I understand it, Feintuch wrote one last Seafort novel show more before his death, "Galahad's Hope," which unfortunately remains unpublished.
Thank you Mr. Feintuch for letting us share in Nicholas Seafort's adventures, trials, and tribulations. show less
