The cooking of black America and the American south - an evocative read even if you've only heard of fried green tomatoes through the film or darling Fannie Flagg book. I've not tried a great deal of these recipes but the nature of their writing and footnotes would seem to indicate that they are well used and workable. Some nice explanatory notes accompany each recipe..
