8/2020. Set during a coach trip across France, Spain, and Portugal, this is a romantic farce disguised at first as a cozy thriller. It's a ridiculous story about the destructive ripples emanating from one middle-aged man's ridiculous midlife crisis, but Cadell comes as close to pulling it off as anyone could.

"If he was just on the point of proposing to you," he said, "don't let me interrupt. As a matter of fact, we'd make an excellent husband for you. I could support you until my money ran out - which it's doing with regrettable speed. By that time, he'd be making some, and he could take over." (
