Stanley Kauffmann has been a film critic for The New Republic since 1958. Author of seven novels and ten books of criticism, he has taught theater and film at the Yale School of Drama, the CUNY Graduate Center and Hunter College. Sheep Meadow Press previously published his memoir Albums of a Life and About the Theater, a book of selected essays.
