The USS Enterprise, commissioned in 1938, saw service in World War II from the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941 to the Okinawa campaign in 1945. The battles that the ship participated in span the history of the war in the Pacific; Midway, Guadalcanal, Eastern Solomons, Santa Cruz Islands, Truk, Saipan and Iwo Jima to name a few.
