Another favourite from my youth and the Scholastic Book fair is The Wedding Planner's Daughter. This is yet another book I had NO idea was a series and am now super sad I didn't get to pick up the entire series as a kid!

Willa is a 12 year old nerdy girl who is trying to help her Mom (a wedding planner) get hooked up and married with her English teacher. But disaster strikes, and this may not work out as well as Willa planned. Will it all work out?

This book is ridiculously cute and horribly addicting. I found it super quick to read and super fun. It's a relaxing book for sure. While the book is designed for middle graders, this book could easily be enjoy by an adult who just wants a fast, fun yet simple read. It's delightful!

Willa Havisham may be the only twelve-year-old who reads classics, eats cherry cordials, and just so happens to be the worst wisher in the world.

Her glamorous single mother, Stella, plans the most beautiful weddings and is constantly moving the two of them around. When they finally move back to Stella's childhood hometown of Bramble, Cape Cod, Willa begins to think her wishes are coming true. She's made her first-ever best friend, is bonding with her crazy Nana, and, best of all, Stella seems to be falling for Willa's English teacher -- who just happens to be perfect dad material.

But when, after a wedding disaster, Stella is ready to pack up and throw everyone out, how can Willa stop everything show more from going back to the way it was?

THE WEDDING PLANNER'S DAUGHTER was a book I'd been hearing about for awhile, so when the chance came up to review it, I was excited. It ended up being one of the most hilarious books I've read in quite some time. The characters, Willa especially, were so well-developed and real. I could understand Stella's hesitation but also Willa's determination. Everything in the book was well-thought out and easy to relate to.

I'll definitely be recommending this to my librarian and friends. Now I can't wait to read the sequel!

Willa and her mother have lived all over the Northeast but now they have settled in her mother's hometown of Bramble on Cape Cod. Willa loves it there but she knows it is only a matter of time until her mother, a famous wedding planner, wants to move again. Willa is determined to find a husband for her mother so she can fulfill her lifelong wish to have a father. She finds the perfect candidate in her new neighbor.

This was a fun book. Willa is not yet 13 so this book is definitely a tween more than teen book. Willa's family and friends are a nice set of people that should make a fun series. I will probably by reading more in the series.

Willa is spunky, well-read, and has a unique voice. Her escapes around the town of Bramble on Cape Code are not to be missed.
Narrated by Stina Nielsen. Willafred Havisham never met her father who died in a hot air balloon accident the day after the wedding. Her mother Stella has never remarried; cool and businesslike, she throws all of her energies into her wedding planning business. They've never stayed long in one place. Ass soon as Stella feels she's getting too close to a guy they move. Now they're living on Cape Cod which Willa loves. Her English teacher Sam lives next door and she believes he would be the perfect husband to Stella, not to mention a long-desired father to Willa. Ever so slowly Stella warms up to Sam and Willa believes her longtime birthday wish of a new father will soon come true. But when Willa ends up ruining a celebrity wedding and show more consequently her mother's business, her dream of staying "on Cape" is no longer certain. show less
It ws a fun read... Willifred is 12, and wishing for a father.
The book was relly meant for elementary kids. Although the book was cute and it has an AR test, I only thought it was okay. It only took me a half an hour to read it. Overall, the book would be great for elementary schoolers, but it's an easy AR test for any 7th grader.
