I do enjoy this series but it has been several years since I read one of the books. This is a good one, but I did struggle with keeping track of characters. Too long between stories.

Emma is still mostly broken after the death of her fiance/father of her son. When a local man dies Emma and Vida start working on an obituary. There is a lot to look up since it is a prominate family that has lived in Alpine for many generations.

There is also a story about someone threatening a local judge with blackmail.

Someone this all ties together but I had no clue exactly how it was all going to come together.

Now that I'm back into reading the series I need to work to catch up!
