Description
Guts, the feared Black Swordsman, is on the rampage - and it's personal. First, I have no words to describe the sheer epicness of this volume. After Mozgus finally falls, the Egg from the depths of the tower will conjure the dark forces from all the people buried under the temple. This .... blob?..... will soon start devouring the refugees and thus create conditions for the unthinkable, repetition of the Eclipse ritual.
At the very daybreak, from the Egg that was so angry with the world that rejected it, Griffith returns. With all the media-like manipulation he is reborn in a visual form as he was before being broken and becoming the member of Dark Five. He is awash in white light and appears as a saint and savior, he even manages to completely flabbergast Guts. At least for the moment.
Our friends now depart, show more Guts with the goal of trying to find safe spot for Casca, Luca and refugees move on from now utterly destroyed tower to find safety elsewhere. Farnese decides to follow Guts, because she sees that she is missing something from her Holy See lessons and that there are some much darker forces at work on Earth.
I cannot wait to see what would happen to the Casca's and Guts' poor child. Seems to be given a role of acting as humanizing element of the reborn Hawk.
Great story, action sequences are astounding.

This is the 21st volume in the Berserk series. In this volume Guts takes on Father Mozgus and Father Mozgus takes on a truly terrifying aspect during this battle. With Father Mozgus’s defeat the Tower of Conviction begins to crumble. Will Guts and party be able to escape this intense destruction alive?
As he flees the crumbling Tower of Conviction, Guts sees Griffith has returned as the Hawk of Light. Now that Griffith is back who knows what destruction he will leave in his determination to make his dream come true.
The illustration remains incredibly well done, detailed, and just fantastic. The story is fast-paced and full of intense action.
Overall this was yet another wonderful volume in the Berserk series. I am excited to see what show more happens next now that Griffith has returned to the story. I would recommend this whole series to fans of horror fantasy graphic novels. show less
