Buzz

I enjoyed reading this book. The main message is to teach children about what kind of every day objects make a buzzing noise. I really liked the pictures, and how there was a picture for each sentence that the text is describing. For example, he says "I make a banana shake" and there is a picture of a blender with banana peels next to it. This gives a children a mental picture of what is happening and they can really understand what is going on. A child might not know what a blender is, but from looking at it in the picture they can probably recognize it or at least learn something new. Another thing I liked is that the word BUZZZZ is repeated over and over throughout the book, and is in bold letters. The children can see that this is show more the word being repeated, and when the reader gets to it the students will be able to say it out loud. I think children would love being able to make sounds in the middle of the story and see what kind of household objects make these sounds. show less

Buzz is a picture book filled with sights and sounds. Buzz is centered around a young girls morning and the different things she encounters, including making breakfast and her parents getting ready for work. Throughout the book Wong reuses the word "Buzz" when everyday objects, like blenders and electric razors, are used.
This is a simple and sweet read for young children.

The making buzz sound, she sees her parents snoring, the gardener mows the grass, and the blender make buzz sound.
