How do you handle a crew of interstellar mutineers who have already anticipated your every move? Well maybe not your EVERY move..! A pulp sci-fi novel with an unexpectedly clever plot and even a cheeky bit of self-referencing, meta style.

A disappointing Leinster adventure. The title may be a play on his The Other Side of Here from a decade earlier. It's surprisingly old-fashioned and pulpish that reads more like something from Planet Stories in the 1940s, not Astounding in 1964. The hero is a fightin' man, raised on a planet with 1.7 gravities, so he's faster and stronger than most people. This comes in handy as he's ambushed by a gang of 5 on his way to sign up as first mate on the RimStar. Even more handy when it turns out those 5 are his crewmates. Everything about the job is off, from the strange captain to the fact that a movie crew -- with women! -- is coming along for the ride, but a contract is a contract. What follows is info dumps, fist fights, conspiracies, show more and a love interest straight out of 1930s B westerns.
