I love Kurland. I did not love My Heart Stood Still and has been the least enjoyable out of the many books of hers that I have read. It had a promising beginning but got stuck shortly after the hero and heroine met and as he was remodeling the castle she was haunting. It also really bothered me that the ghosts in this story could do just about anything a 'live' person could do. This included traveling to other cities, trying on (non-ghost)clothing from modern day, keeping track of time every day, morning til night, etc. The story just dragged on and on for about 150 pages and I did start to skim. MHSS did pick up when Thomas met Jamie and went back in time to rescue Iolanthe from being killed. Sorry to say that I felt most of the book show more was about a 1 star and the last third about 3 or 3 plus to average around a 2/5 stars. I am still a big fan of Ms. Kurland and this won't discourage me from reading on. show less
Another great story with wonderful characters that pull you in and do not let go until the very end.
