This was another very good story in the 'Shadow of Liberty Series'. Each story is a stand alone book, but all the stories incorporate the coming to America and seeing Lady Liberty in the New York harbor.

This story is about a Swiss village of Chur and the surgeon who lives there, Erik Linden. Erik was excited to be marrying Metryka in just a few weeks, when she announced to him that she no longer loved him. He was heartbroken. Soon after Metryka will be injured in the unrest between the woodworkers in town and the factory that has started up and taken their jobs from them. Erik will question his ability as a doctor and sets off for America. But Erik leaves behind a young woman who has loved him from afar most of her life. How she comes show more back into his life makes for a beautiful story of love.

I enjoy the attention to detail and history that these authors put into their work. You learn some history and are entertained all at the same time. Looking forward to reading all 4 books in this series.
