This is a first class business / life book and ranks equal first for me with Sam Walton's "Made in America".
The cover makes the book look like rubbish and the title is misleading. Donald Trump does "Think Big and Kick Ass" but he also spends plenty of time doing his homework, studying the background to deals and collecting all the information he can to get an edge (i.e. thinking small). He's also very rewarding of loyalty and persistence and searches hard for good people - he's not a full time ass kicker.
The "going with your gut feeling" that he rates so highly, is in his case based on deep knowledge and a lifetime's experience, and it doesn't seem like such good advice for beginners, but he does make up for it great sections on show more persistence, learning from other peoples (and your own) mistakes and what to look for in hiring people, etc, etc.
Like he says, "The trick is to be a skeptical optimist and to pick your battles. When you think you can win, go full steam ahead and never quit, but also realize your limitations."
A brilliant book.

This book is so great! It's really comforting to know that there is something sensible to read about thinking big. Sometimes it's hard being a think big character, because 1) it's easy to fail 2) it looks like foolish dreaming 3) it takes a lot to make adjustments.

But I felt Trump and his co-author Zanker really sustained my spirit in what they said about thinking big. Some things that we don't often hear. I savored it.
This book is readable, direct and fun.
Each Chapter gives you specific circumstances and ways to handle them.
At the end of each chapter, you will find is a box that provides a summation of the chapter, and then a list of point by point references,
to the key parts of the material in the chapter.
It is a great read for those interested in self help and/or business.
Wanted to learn more about Trump's background and how he thinks. Tom Burgher suggested that this book was the best one to read. It is a good one but I found I needed more history of the man first. Bought Art of the Deal to get a better handle on his background. Written with Bill Zanger of the Learning Annex. Published in Oct. 2009
Having auditioned for The Apprentice and knowing Mr. Trump personally it's great to see the practical application
I really love this book because Donald Trump himself gave many real life case studies that will be very usefull
for all of us
