This book is excellent for all future carpenters or children who are interested in how homes are built. The book simplifies the house building process. With short sentences on each page, the majority of the book is comprised of illustrations. This allows the reader to use their imagination and elaborate on the story. I can imagine a teacher asking her students what type of material they would use to build their house or what color paint would they use inside. I would recommend this story for children in preschool through kindergarten.
gives children a general idea on tools, woodworking, and safety. this book has lots of options to stop pause and discuss what you think these tools and material will do next or if the children have ever seen these things in their life.
Return 3/20
This book takes the children through the process of building a house. Each page shows what a carpenter, plumer, electrician and a bricklayer does. The pictures are very colorful and appealing to young children.

In this story, Barton explains the steps used to build a house. Also, he tells of the different types of people that do the labor in the house. Such as, an electrician does the electricity components of the house. In this book, Barton does use his vibrant colors, but his lines are straighter when it comes to the house.
