Sabuda and Reinhart have together redefined pop-up books for this generation (they sure weren't this amazing when I was a kid!)

This one isn't my favorite, perhaps because it tries to cover the series. Any of the individual books would have provided enough material for a book EACH. But still, you can't beat these books for attention to detail, spectacular complexity, and dense pages.
There is a pop-up double-page for each of the seven Narnia books, in the chronological order of the story arc.
All of them are fantastically detailed.
I did have some trouble shutting the book safely.

(I had read this when I bought the books, but reviewed it before passing to another set of grandchildren.)
This book could be used as a supplemental book in the classroom, if reading any of the chronicles of narnia stories with children. Most often, students reading any of the series will the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe as their first introduction to the series. The pop-up book, could be used as an engaging way to encourage students to respond to literature and Sabuda's art. Ask students to respond, which book in the chronicles of narnia series would you like to read next based on Sabuda's art and the summary in the text? I like this idea. I believe it can help generate a genuine interest in another story, helping children self-select stories that will interest them. The chronicles of narnia do not necessarily need to be read in show more chronological order and not all of them need to be read either. show less
This book is an extremely simple version of all the Chronicles of Narnia. The exciting part of the book is the very detailed pop-ups.
I love pop-up books, so reading this book was super awesome. Plus, the Chronicles of Narnia are quite possibly the coolest books ever.
After presenting this book to a classroom, I might ask them to write a short story about what their own world would be like if they found one. They could also write a few sentences about their favorite pop-up from the book. Or they could look at one of the pop-ups and make up their own story to go with it.
This book is super cool. The Chronicles of Narnia chapter book are pretty long, but this book is not hard at all. The pop ups are beautiful and children of all ages will likely enjoy them. It could also get children interested in reading the chapter books.
This book has amazing pop-up displays that are beautifully illustrated. I was a little disappointed that there is only one display per chronicle, but some have doors that show more scenes. Robert Sabuda is the master of paper art.
Even though some details are a bit off from the books, this pop-up book is absolutely gorgeous, a work of art. Be careful with the intricate paper shapes when opening and closing, though. Just beautiful.
