All the right parts are in the book but it is not very good. The characters all lack depth and come across as wooden, and the story is terribly predictable.
But this was the authors first book, so I plan to try one of the newer ones.

I loved this story of unresolved feelings resurfacing after meeting 25 years later. I couldn't put the book down-a very fast read. Reminded me of Anita Shreve's novels.
So this was a first for me.
I read the back of the book and thought I recognized one of the main character’s names. Then I started to read and was sure I had read the book, but couldn’t imagine when, as I didn’t think I had been aware of this author before this past year. But I kept reading, and I finished it again. I HAVE NEVER READ A BOOK TWICE!!
Patti Callahan (Henry) is such a good author. This is her debut book and she was already good then, but I have fallen in love with her books much more recently. Pick one up and I am sure you won’t be disappointed!!!

Have enjoyed the author's other works. This story starts out with Amy and Phil and they are traveling to visit their son at college and to meet his new girl and her parents.
Amy meets her longtime lover-Nick but he's now married and has a daughter-who her son is in love with.
Story goes to the past and their dating years and back to the present where we are able to learn about their connection.
Things fall apart for all the familys and you wonder if they can ever get back to what they had. Like the parts about preserving the land and what is involved.
Love what title stands for.
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

Two adults who were in love as young adults, are reunited when their college age children are dating. But they are both married. Unrequited love and its consequences as they both make big decisions.
"Great characters..well written....keeps you wanting more...however would have loved a different ending..."
amy and nick meet up 25 yrs. after an affair ended badly. Kids are now engaged? how to fit their new life into the old memories and unfinished business. Hurt in costa rica. Wife didn't send telegrams. Amy never knew.
